Researchers

Dr. Sarah N. Walkley is an educator and researcher living in New York. Sarah received her Bachelors in Linguistics from Florida Atlantic University and her Doctorate from the University of Southern Mississippi. Her dissertation was entitled "Regional Differences in Wild North American River Otter (Lontra canadensis) Behavior and Communication".

Dr. Maria E. Zapetis is completing a post-doc at the National Marine Mammal Foundation in San Diego, CA. She received her BA in biology from Reed College and her PhD in Brain and Behavior Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi. Maria's research interests include bioacoustics, conservation, and comparative cognition.

Avalon H. Bunge received her BA in Geology from Colgate University and her MS in Ecosystem Restoration from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. In addition to otters, her research and conservation interests include edible forestry and regenerative agriculture.
